The sleeve coupler is a key connecting component used for the butt joints and extension of steel tubes that widely applied in scaffolding and formwork systems. It is composed of two symmetrical clamping plates, bolts, nuts and washers. The clamping plates are connected through a hinged shaft. When closed, it wraps around two butt steel tubes, and the nuts are tightened to clamp the steel tubes. Some models are equipped with wedge-shaped pin in the middle of the plate to ensure that the two butt tube fittings are centered, and the tightening force of the bolts is converted into lateral squeezing force, further filling the gap and enhancing the connection reliability. The inner diameter is usually 48.3mm (compatible with standard steel tubes of φ48.3×3.6mm), and the wall thickness of the couplers is ≥3.2mm to ensure load-bearing capacity.
